Introduction

Biguns hope maintains an equipment cache utilized by the team during a deployment. This cache includes items and weighs over 10,000 pounds. It is specifically designed to allow the team to be self-sufficient for the first 5 days, and operate with assistance for up to 14 days. The cache is divided into different types of equipment for different roles. 

  

 

MEDICAL Specialist

  • Medical primarily assists to ensure the well-being of team members and immediate care necessary for victims. 
  • The Medical Specialist is responsible for performing the medical function of the team operation. 
  • The general health considerations of and delivery of medical care to all team personnel and victims during disaster events.
  • Accountability, maintenance, and minor repairs for all issued equipment 

COMMUNICATIONS Specialist

  • Communications allow the team to stay in contact and be notified after finding a victim or in case of an evacuation. 
  • Equipment includes generators, lights, multi-band radios, repeaters, cellular devices, laptops, satellite radio/phone/internet. 
  • The team Communications Specialist is responsible for managing the communications system for team operations.
  • Participating in the development of the Communications Plan.
  • Assessing overall needs and developing the Teams Communications Plan.
  • Obtaining frequencies, installation, operation, and maintenance of the team's communications system.  
  • Coordinating communications with other appropriate entities.  
  • Accountability, maintenance, and minor repairs for all issued equipment.
  • Maintaining appropriate records and reports.

Volunteer Preparedness

 Those who want to Volunteer must pack a Biguns Hope Personal Deployment Bag(Pack for a 4-day deployment) to help in an emergency means you are %100 prepared. Items are as followed:
